Den Velde is in the border region of the Netherlands, approximately 2 kilometres from the German Border. The varied landscape consist of woods, meadows, fields and the river Vecht. In this area are several cycling and walking routes; for example "Rondje Gramsbergen" (Circuit Gramsbergen) and the so called "Smokkelpad" (Smugling Path), a name that appeals to the imagination; both routes cross the border. Also in the area are a number of other cycle routes with numbered cross-roads which make planning your own excursions a simple exercise. The long distance walking route "The Pieterpad" passes 2 1/2 kilometres from Den Velde.
Gramsbergen (Council Hardenberg) is a picturesque village with a small historic museum, shops, pleasant terraces and places to eat.

For more than a century the site of the house 't Wemeldink was established as a farm. The farm was destroyed by fire twice, most recently in 1986, when the present house was built. The old cow shed and the separate small bakery are the only parts of the original farm that still remain. The spacious house was now built in the local style, with a high tiled roof.

Set in approximately 3 acres of garden with wooded banks and
many trees providing nesting areas for all kinds of birds. Often can be seen roes, pheasants and hares. You may take advantage of the large garden to walk.

It is an ideal retreat for travellers who enjoy peace and quiet.

Rooms

't Wemeldink has two guest rooms on the first floor.  Both rooms, one double and one with twin beds, are decorated in a pleasant country style.  The guest bathroom, situated on the adjacent landing has shower, toilet and washbasin. From the guest rooms and the bathroom the view over the garden, meadows and fields is pleasant and restful.

 Open - April 1st to October 31st every day.  Guests are welcome from 1600 hours onwards.

 27.50 Euro p.p.p.n including breakfast and tourist tax. Price is based on two persons sharing. Payment cash on arrival.

Breakfast

Continental breakfast includes various home made breads, croissants, farm fresh eggs and several kinds of sandwich fillings. A speciality of the house is home made quince marmalade.
Breakfast from 0700 to 0900 hours, served in the conservatory, or if preferred outside on the terrace.

At Gramsbergen (2 1/2 km) there are several places to eat.

We hebben 3 nachten geslapen in 't Wemeldink wat een geweldige ervaring was. We werden hartelijk ontvangen bij aankomst, daarna gingen we naar onze kamer die tot in de puntjes verzorgt was evenals de badkamer. Een goed ontbijt met verse eieren. Mooie tuin met oprijlaan je weet niet wat je ziet want horen doe je niks wat en rust zo midden in de natuur.

We komen zeker terug voor een volgend bezoek

Een prachtige plek, waar we genoten hebben van de rust, de verschillende bomen, de vele vogeltjes e.d. Heerlijk geslapen in een mooie kamer. Ineke was een excellente gastvrouw & Chiel maakt van de tuin een lusthof. Een prima uitvalsbasis voor mooie fietstochten. Interessant ook, dat Nederlands-Duitse grensgebied.

We hadden toch het raam open gedaan, dachten we? En inderdaad ... open, maar toch hoor je niets. Aardige gastvrouw, uitstekend ontbijt. Lekkere zelfgemaakte jams en koeken. Mooie omgeving.

Wij hebben na een fietstocht lekker geslapen in't Wemeldink, het ontbijt was ook heerlijk!

Mevrouw was hartelijk en plaatste snel bedden bij voor onze meiden omdat er nog maar één kamer vrij was! Wat een prachtige lokatie!

We zullen deze B en B zeker aanbevelen!
Misschien tot ziens!

Het is een super mooie locatie. Ineke is een hele gezellige gastvrouw. Het zelfgebakken brood smaakte erg lekker. De fietsen die we mochjten lenen waren prima. Kortom een heel goed logeeradres!
