The “Rode Haas”, located in the centre of Haasrode village in rural Oud-Heverlee, lies on the edge of Heverlee woods and Meerdaal woods. This 1,890 hectare of natural beauty is one of the most important public woodland areas in Flanders with miles of hiking and cycling paths. The lakes at the ‘Zoete waters’, nestling in their woody surroundings lined with cosy cafés and restaurants, are a favourite destination for a day out in the country. The guest house has themed rooms decorated with an eye for detail along with top quality furniture. We ensure our clients comfort, an outstanding service and peace and tranquillity; in short: an opportunity to relax in a cosy and comfortable atmosphere. In addition to these standard facilities, our guests will enjoy an exquisite night’s sleep in our extremely comfortable top-class Hästens beds. The bedrooms are decorated with the contemporary Moooi label furniture, giving the rooms the underlying feeling of the 60s and 70s.

I have stayed at De Rode Haas on a regular basis whilst traveling to Leuven on business. Each visit has been a delight - the owners, Christine and Mark, are extremely welcoming and there is always a friendly atmosphere. The rooms are very comfortable and stylish - the attention to detail is impressive. Christine will also cook evening 'snacks' (which to an English person are a gourmet feast)!
De Rode Haas receives my highest recommendations.

Een uitzonderlijke belevenis! Op een grauwe dag in hartje Vlaams-Brabant terechtkomen in een sublieme oase van rust. We vielen van de ene subtiele verbazing in de andere (elke kamer, vergaderzaal, slaapkamer, ontbijtruimte zelfs gang heeft wel een verrassing in petto). We hebben eventjes voor de fun gezocht naar minpunten, maar eerlijk gezegd niet gevonden. Het enorme verschil met eerdere ervaringen elders is uiteraard de heel persoonlijke, rustige maar o zo gewaarde inbreng van gastvrouw en -heer die er écht àlles voor doen opdat elke gast tevreden zou vertrekken. Een perfect huis met perfecte mensen. Na een nacht en ontbijt bij de Rode Haas vertrek je met een gelukzalig gevoel terug de wereld in. Waren er zo maar meer.

Je séjourne très régulièrement à Louvain. Ayant testé plusieurs hotels et chambres d'hôtes, je ne peux que recommander De Rode Haas. La qualité des chambres et le service sont bien supérieures. il est possible de manger sur place le soir. J'apprécie particulièrement le calme et l'accueil des propriétaires.

Het was een fijne ervaring om te overnachten in de Rode Haas. We hebben genoten van de mooie kamer, geslapen als rozen (we sliepen dan ook op een kamer met een kamerbrede rode roos op de muur). Genoten van een heerlijke en verrassende maaltijd 's avonds en in de ochtend een feestelijk ontbijt voorgeschoteld gekregen. Prima bediend, deskundig van uitleg voorzien over de mogelijkheden in de streek door de heer des huizes. gesnuisterd en gesnuffeld in de woonboeken die er te kijk lagen. Maar wat vooral zo fijn was, is om heel persoonlijk, stijlvol en toch ongedwongen je thuis te mogen voelen en dit dankzij warme mensen die een verblijf in de Rode Haas tot een feest maken. Dankjewel. Ik heb me daar de koningin van Spanje gevoeld. lies en jan
