B&B Guesthouse "Casa Doña Inés" – Pizarra/Málaga (30 km inland by car or train)
B&B GUESTHOUSE “CASA DOñA INéS “
The ideal home base to enjoy the authentic Andalucia.
“Casa Doña Inés” lends its name to its last occupant “Doña Inés”, who was a well-known and influential character in Pizarra and its surroundings. The typical Andalusian townhouse was build around the spacious patio, which up until today functions as an open air “living room”. Everywhere around the house, typical Andalusian characteristics and decorations can still be found, such as an iron "mirador" on the front of the house, terra-cotta ornaments and traces of original wall paintings.
In 2003 we were the lucky ones to give this authentic patio-house back her dignity of the olden days. During the restoration, villagers told us the most diverse stories about the history of the house. One of the most interesting ones, was that the famous painter Pablo Picasso would have frequently recited at the house during his youth, due to health problems. It is also said that at some point, three of his works-of-art would have decorated the dining room. Myth or not, we love to take the villagers word for it!
The self standing guesthouse is located at the end of the patio. Downstairs you’ll find a comfortable living room, equipped with all the comforts of home, such as a refrigerator, Wifi, CD-player and satellite TV. The bedroom is located on the second floor with a view on the patio. It contains two single beds, a bathroom and a separate toilet. Another floor up, there is a roof terrace, which offers views over the valley and surrounding mountains. The ideal place for sunbathing, watching sunsets and admiring the starry skies.
The guest-room is located in the mansion on the ground floor and has direct access to the patio. This cozy room is also equipped with two single beds and an adjoining bathroom.
Breakfast is served on the patio or in the dining room.
