De Krabbenhoek - Books, Bed & Breakfast – Graauw

FotoFotoFotoFoto

Quiet, clean and cosy room with bathroom and toilet, in a rural area of natural beauty: the magnificant polder landscape of Zeeland.

De Krabbenhoek is the right place for those who like nature and culture.

Within an hour you can reach Antwerp (30 km), Ghent , the beach,  Bruges and Brussels by car.

Hulst is one of the best preserved fortified towns in The Netherlands.  The 3,5 km long town walls, constructed during the Eighty Years War, are a sight worth seeing all by themselves.  The walls are surrounded by the town moat and the top offers first class views of the historic town centre. The shops are open seven days a week. The many terraces around the square are very popular.

Hulst is a rural council and has extensive areas of natural beauty.
Our house is built in 2012, in a tranquil polder area with its long tree dikes and coves. You can make long walks and cycle tours, 6 km from ‘The Drowned Land of Saeftinghe’:  the largest brackish water area of Western Europe.  This unique nature area  consists of silts and salt marshes and boasts a very rich flora and fauna.   Nearby you will find the picturesque tidal harbour of Paal (at 6 km), where you can swim and sail.

The North boasts the tranquil polder area, which exudes a great feeling of freedom. You can see ships pass within a stone’s throw from the sea bank.
At De Krabbenhoek, you can borrow or buy the famous 'junction' walking- and cyclemaps. In Hulst you can hire a bike. And always the wind in the back!

This is Paradise! We had a wonderful time at Veerle's place. The new house is modern, but cosy, wonderfully decorated and super clean. This also fits to the guest room which we used and which fullfilled all our needings. Waking up in the morning was always exciting because of the unique breakfast which changes daily and which is included in the regular price. Veerle and her husband Leo are open minded people who anticipated us every wish! Veerle loves to give good trip advises and to provide an insight into regional culture (especially into food ;-)). Please choose Veerle`s place - you won`t regret it! ...beautiful landscape .... fantastic biking roads .... pleasant calmness.....charming hosts! Many many thanks to Veerle and Leo for these recreative holidays - this was exactly what we were looking for...... Lena and Julius
